Q. 2.    Describe the different forms of Worker Involvement in Quality Circle.
Answer: A quality circle is a participatory management technique that enlists the help of employees in solving problems related to their own jobs. Circles are formed of employees working together in an operation who meet at intervals to discuss problems of quality and to devise solutions for improvements. Quality circles have an autonomous character, are usually small, and are led by a supervisor or a senior worker. Employees who participate in quality circles usually receive training in formal problem-solving methods—such as brain-storming, pareto analysis, and cause-and-effect diagrams—and are then encouraged to apply these methods either to specific or general company problems. After completing an analysis, they often present their findings to management and then handle implementation of approved solutions.

Q. 3.    What are the benefits of an MBO Programme? Explain.
Answer: Management by objectives (or MBO) is a personnel management technique where managers and employees work together to set, record and monitor goals for a specific period of time. Organizational goals and planning flow top-down through the organization and are translated into personal goals for organizational members. The technique was first championed by management expert Peter Drucker and became commonly used in the 1960s.
MBO has some distinct advantages. It provides a means to identify and plan for achievement of goals. If you don't know what your goals are, you will not be able to achieve them. Planning permits proactive behavior and a disciplined approach to goal achievement. It also allows you to prepare for contingencies and roadblocks that may hinder the plan. Goals are measurable so that they can be assessed and adjusted easily. Organizations can also gain

Q. 4.    Explain the areas of activity of Human Resources Planning.
Answer: Similar to other disciplines, human resources can be roughly divided into planning, execution and evaluation activities. Failing to manage any one of these activities can damage the bottom line of any business. If you’re interested in a career in HR, starting with an understanding of the planning aspects of the profession will give you a good idea of whether this field is right for you.
Organizational Structure: The first step in HR planning is to determine an organization’s staffing needs. This starts with the creation of an organization chart, which lists the various positions the company will need, determines the hierarchy, or totem pole, and provides job descriptions for each position. An optimal organizational chart includes positions

Q. 5.    What makes Career Planning a success? Explain.
Answer: Career planning is not an activity that should be done once -- in high school or college -- and then left behind as we move forward in our jobs and careers. Rather, career planning is an activity that is best done on a regular basis -- especially given the data that the average worker will change careers (not jobs) multiple times over his or her lifetime. And it's never too soon or too late to start your career planning.Career planning is not a hard activity, not something to be dreaded or put off, but rather an activity that should be liberating and fulfilling, providing goals to achieve in your current career or plans for beginning a transition to a new career. Career planning should be a rewarding and positive experience.
