1 Differentiate CISC with RISC.
Answer: RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) and CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computing) are two computer architectures that are predominantly used nowadays. The main difference between RISC and CISC is in the number of computing cycles each of their instructions take. With CISC, each instruction may utilize a much greater number of cycles before completion than in RISC.

Q.2 Explain about the Sockets and slots of the Motherboard.
Answer: The motherboard has one or more sockets or slots into which the processor is inserted. The type of processor that can be used is defined by the type of socket or slot present on the motherboard. Intel has historically defined the processor socket standards, but competing chip makers have been able to use the same standards quite successfully.

Socket Specifications:

Slot 1
Developed by Intel to replace their Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) sockets

Slot 2
Slot A
Developed by AMD, Slot A is mechanically similar to Intel's Slot 1.

Socket 7 is a ZIF socket used by Pentium chips. Intel has moved to Slot 1 and Slot 2, but this socket is also used by AMD K5 and K6, as well as Cyrix 6x86 processors.
Socket 8
Socket 8 is designed for Intel's Pentium Pro processor.
Socket 370
Originally designed for use with Celeron processors,

Q.3 Define the following.

a. Front Sided Bus
Answer: A front-side bus (FSB) was a computer communication interface (bus) often used in Intel-chip-based computers during the 1990s and 2000s.

b. Dual Independent Bus
Answer: The Dual Independent Bus (DIB) architecture was first implemented in the sixth-generation processors from Intel and AMD.

Q. 4 What are the advantages and disadvantages of switching power circuit?
Answer: DC are different according to different requirements to use the power of his best linear DC output is linear, can be used in demanding situations, switching power supply, followed by his high switching speed of transformers and switches, is characterized by weight small , large capacity, high output quality ,
A linear power principle:
Linear power supply including frequency transformer, rectifier output filter, the control circuit , the protection circuit

Q. 5 Discuss any five guidelines that we need to follow while troubleshooting the hardware problem.
Answer: The term troubleshooting refers to the act of applying diagnostic tools--often heuristically and accompanied by common sense--to determine the causes of system problems.
Each system problem must be treated on its own merits. It is not possible to provide a cookbook of actions that resolve each problem.

Information to Gather During Troubleshooting
Familiarity with a wide variety of equipment, and experience with a particular machine's common failure modes can be invaluable when troubleshooting system problems

Q. 6 Explain DirectX.

Answer: Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms. Originally, the names of these APIs all began with Direct, such as Direct3D, DirectDraw,
